Guess who is retiring??

Today, June 27th, 2008, marks the last official day that Bill Gates will be working at his company Microsoft. Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft is currently the 3rd richest person in the World. Although he is not going to keep his day to day duties he will remain Chairman of Microsoft. His reason for moving away are to spend more time with his charitable foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
I have always been intrigued by what Bill Gates has accomplished. Wouldn't it be nice to be the head of this company and also have the bank roll that he does.

Some interesting facts about Bill Gates and Microsoft

  • Bill Gates Net Worth- $58 Billion
  • Microsoft makes a lot of money

  • His home is worth an estimated $136,617,000, the property taxes alone exceed 1 million per year Click Here for an interactive tour
  • Microsoft's office building is over 8 million square feet and has over 30,000 employees
  • Microsoft are the owners of over 10 million square feet of real estate
  • In 2004 over 90% of computers were running Windows
  • Bill Gates was named one of the top 100 people that most influenced the 20th Century
I think that it is amazing that Bill Gates brought a product to consumers that has almost become a necessity. So all you or I need to do is create a great product that everyone in the world needs and we can have a monster house, company and bank account.

Trying to do what I intended to do

I started this blog to post about one of my favorite things to do while online, look up useless information. You know, stupid facts like, how much did they make doing this or that, when was the last time this happened and lots of other information and facts about people places and anything that I find remotely interesting.
My blog did start off that way but quickly became a journal about my family, friends and work. So, I decided that I am taking Stewy's World back to what it was meant to be, what goes through my head and what I find interesting. So I really hope you like what this blog is supposed to be.
You might be reading this question a lot.

Started a new Blog -- GIMP PIMPS

I have seen lots of blogs out there that are all about things like, image of the day, logo designs, photoshop, cool pictures and videos and lots of other visual items. I find these very interesting and I enjoy reading them. (I mean looking at them)
I decided to do something a little similar, in an very pathetic attempt to be cool. My buddy Doug and I both use a photo editing program called GIMP. We use it all the time for our personal images and some times for work. We decided it would be cool to have a blog that we could display all of the cool stuff that we use GIMP for. So if you are reading this you need to check out the new blog.

Meeting the Simpon's

Recently while in California I met the biggest celebrities that I have ever met in real life. I met Homer, Lisa and Bart Simpson. I found myself in a so called Springfield. I got to check out Moe's Tavern, the Kwik-E-Mart and the Comic Book shop.

We happen to visit Universal Studios in Hollywood. They have a new Simpson's ride. This new ride is one of the best rides that I have ever been on. It is a 3D ride that makes you feel like you are in Springfield. I highly recommend it to anyone that visits Universal Studios.

BlackBerry BOLD vs. Iphone

For any electronics lovers out there, you probably heard that Apple announced a new, faster Iphone.
You can read CNN's report of it HERE.
I think that the announcement is misleading due to the fact that even though Apple lowered the price of the Iphone, they bumped the price of the monthly service that comes along with the phone, meaning that the price of the phone is cheaper but over the 2 year period that your contract runs, you end up paying the same price. Nice move.
I must say that I am BlackBerry user and I feel that they have the best phones on the market for business and personal use. BlackBerry last month announced last month that they have a newer faster phone as well, the BlackBerry BOLD. I came across a very interesting comparison of the 2 phones. I thought that I would share this with you all, to help show you why I think that BlackBerry's kick the Iphone's butt.
I also must note that having your emails sent directly to your phone is free with BlackBerry. With the Iphone you must pay an additional monthly fee.

The Need to Post Something!

I have been on vacation the last week and I almost went crazy with very limited access to the internet. I was amazed at how much I miss Blogger! My intention was to get back today and post my pics from our trip, but I left the camera at home, so I logged on anyway because I just needed to post something. I am sorry for the short and almost pointless post that this is, but I feel so much better that I have put something new on here. I will try to get some pictures of our trip up soon for the 2 of you that read this.
One Interesting tidbit that I found recently is this cool feature on Blogger.
Blogger Play
This is a massive slide show of all the images that were uploaded today from Bloggers out there.
